Job Summary and Qualifications

The CNA or Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care through delegated basic nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under RN supervision, the PCT assists in patient care, maintains a safe environment, and complies with hospital policies and nursing regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing nursing care plans and performing patient care under supervision.
  • Recording patient information such as vital signs, intake/output, and other data.
  • Assisting with mobility, transfers, and discharges, demonstrating proper body mechanics.
  • Collecting specimens and ensuring accuracy and timely transfer.
  • Helping patients with activities of daily living and changing linens.
  • Serving as Monitor/Telemetry Tech as needed.
  • Engaging in evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Required Experience: None.
  • Preferred Experience: 1+ years in an acute care setting.
  • Required License: Current Nurse Aide Registry listing as Nurse Aide I.
  • Required Certification: Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment.
