Job summary

Valley Health System in Winchester, VA is seeking a Nursing Float CNA on the third shift. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform routine personal care for patients and help maintain a safe environment.

You must have the Virginia or West Virginia CNA certification, BLS, and a high school diploma. After orientation, you may precept new CNAs and contribute to patient care across units.

Qualifications

• Must understand basic principles of human growth and development.
• Must be competent to interact with patients according to their age and needs.
• Must have a reliable means of phone communication with hospital.
• Annual flu vaccination required if employed in Long-Term Care clinical areas.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The CNA, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, performs routine personal care duties for patients. Maintains a safe environment and reports any problems. Supports the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center. Once experienced, may act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNA's.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certification & Licensures

Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide required. Must be listed on the relevant Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia and/or West Virginia based on work location(s) within Valley Health. BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
