Job summary

PruittHealth in Georgia is seeking a dedicated CNA to support patients with personal care, hygiene, and daily living activities. The role emphasizes comfort, dignity, and privacy, with responsibilities ranging from vital signs to coordination of care with the supervising RN and maintaining accurate visit records.

The ideal candidate holds an active CNA certification in the state, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CPR certification, plus at least one year in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with adults in a healthcare setting.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comfort care, dignity and privacy for the patient.
  • Obtain vitals and monitor patient condition.
  • Report progress and problems to supervisors.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, meals, errands, and housekeeping.
  • Coordinate care with the RN supervisor and maintain records.

JOB PURPOSE

As part of PruittHealth’s (PH) top initiatives, a new division of Personal Care Services (PCS), PH Family First, is being piloted metro Atlanta market. PH Family First is looking to hire a CNA to join a winning team, to assist the patient and caregiver with personal hygiene needs to increase the level of comfort to the patient.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide optimal comfort care, dignity and privacy for the patient
  • Obtain vital signs of patient(s) assigned
  • Follow procedures for handling medical emergencies or other incidents that affect the delivery of services
  • Report patient progress and problems to supervisory personnel
  • Observe and report any changes in condition, including skin integrity
  • Provide comfort care, companion, shopping/errands, meal prepping and related tasks, housekeeping, appointment scheduling, medication reminders services
  • Assist with patient transfer, ambulation, and exercise
  • Provide personal hygiene to patient(s), including bathing, shaving, oral hygiene, skin care, dressing, toileting, and hair care
  • Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the patient
  • Coordinate care with agency RN Supervisor
  • Maintain accurate and current records of visits
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Attend a minimum of 12 hours of annual in-service education and provide documentation to the agency
  • Attend team meetings and staff development in-services and training
  • Communicate well with patient and family members. Provide a warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, and patients. Respond to expressed concerns with a helpful, caring demeanor. Answer questions in a professional manner
  • Respond to change productively, and handle additional projects as assigned
  • Participate in agency surveys and any subsequently required reports
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in the field
  • Maintain current license/certification as required
  • Honor patient’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints
  • Comply with corporate compliance program
  • Report job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards, including exposure to blood and body fluids, as necessary
  • Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection and prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc
  • Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment
  • Ability to use Matrix Care documenting system, after receiving training
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • A minimum of a high scholl diploma or it's equvilent and an active, current, unrestricted CNA certification in the state of practice
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • One (1) year of experience working with adults in a healthcare setting
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW
  • Current registration in State Nurse Aide Registry as a Certified Nurse Aide
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
