Job Summary Summary

The primary purpose of your job as a member of the nursing staff is to assist the nursing staff under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will participate in a wide range of patient care activities, for a mainly geriatric population, functions and services for assigned patients, which include direct care and task oriented assignments. Essential Functions

• Implements patient care
• Implements clinical and technical aspects of care and nursing orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Intervenes with proper technique, procedure and safety precautions to meet individual needs of patient.
• Implements physician's orders.
• Documents nursing intervention, patient response, effectiveness, complications, etc. communicates information to licensed nursing personnel.
• Consults with all available in-house resource personnel and departments for treatment.
• Respects dignity and confidentiality of patient acting as an advocate.
• Provides a safe and secure environment for patient.
• Functions within limits of hospital and nursing department policies and procedures.
• Performs in a calm and professional manner during crisis and/or emergency situation.
• Accountability: Quality of work.
• Adheres to nursing dress code and wears identification pin.
• Demonstrates organizational skills in providing nursing care by ability to adopt changing workloads.
• Daily assignments are completed within an 8-hour shift without compromising the quality of care.
• Performs according to policy: Temperature. Pulse. Respiration. Blood pressure. Weight/height.
• Prepares patient rooms on admission, daily, and upon patient request.
• 12 lead EKG.
• O2 sat.
