Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Summary:

• The Certified Nursing Assistant performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with patient cleaning, feeding, preparation for treatment, takes and records vital signs, changes bed linen, prepares treatment trays and supplies, and assists nursing staff with other patient care duties. Works under close supervision and relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks.

Experience, Education, Training, Skills, and Licensure:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Communication and Customer Service Skills
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Job Functions:

1. Prepare patient units and rooms, assist during admission, transfer, and discharge with compassion and understanding.
2. Take and record vital signs and other measurements, document in CIS, and report any changes or incidents promptly.
3. Assist with activities of daily living, provide general care, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
4. Prepare and serve meals, feed patients as needed, demonstrating respect and compassion.
5. Transport patients safely and respectfully within the hospital, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
6. Retrieve and deliver medications, and assist with medication management as directed.
7. Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment, report equipment issues, and manage supplies efficiently.
8. Contribute to shift reports, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
9. Use resources prudently to ensure high-quality care and operational efficiency.
10. Participate in educational and training programs to improve skills and performance.
11. Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and tests; collect specimens and transport them; support patient rehabilitation under RN supervision.
12. Run errands for nursing staff, such as transporting lab specimens and medications.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
