Job summary

Prisma Health’s Hospice Of The Foothills role seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide personal care and comfort to terminally ill patients in their homes or at the hospice facility. You will monitor patient conditions, assist with daily tasks, and maintain a safe, clean environment under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates complete a nursing assistant or patient care tech program, hold a CNA certification, and have a valid SC driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
• CNA certification (NCNA) is required.
• Valid SC driver's license (LSCD) and reliable transportation.
• Basic computer and office equipment skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and comfort to patients.
• Monitor patient’s condition.

Job Summary

To provide personal care and comfort services to terminally ill patients, regardless of their age, and perform related homemaker tasks in the patient/family residences or Cottingham Hospice House, in accordance with the plan of care, as assigned and supervised by the registered nurse.

Accountabilities

• Personal care and comfort. The CNA must be proficient in the completion and documentation of the following tasks:
• Monitor Patient’s condition
• The CNA performs basic housekeeping duties, as assigned, that promotes hygiene, comfort and safety for the patient and enables the patient to remain in the home or the Cottingham House.
• Agency Needs - The CNA performs the following tasks in support of the general needs of the department:

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Job related course work beyond high school - completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• CNA - NURSING ASSISTANT - NCNA
• SCDL - SC DRIVERS LICENSE - LSCD

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

• Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry
• Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
• Mathematical skills
