For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

Unit Bio:

We are seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to join our newly created 40-bed medical-surgical unit focused on patients requiring a longer length of stay. This transitional care unit bridges various providers, services, and settings. Our interprofessional team includes geriatrics, nursing, providers, and activities staff working to modify the care plan to promote engagement in art, games, and socialization, aiming to preserve health and morale.

Our nurses, patient care technicians, and CNAs demonstrate strong analytical skills to identify patient needs, risks, and interventions. We prioritize excellent customer service to patients and families at their current health and learning levels. As a team, we communicate effectively, collaborating with healthcare professionals, hospital administration, patients, and families. This unit invites registered nurses seeking a well-rounded, patient-focused opportunity within MaineHealth to apply.

Summary:

Under the supervision of Registered Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Duties may vary by area, considering the specific needs and behaviors of patient populations.

The CNA – Acute Care role involves assisting in nursing care delivery to designated patients under RN supervision, performing direct and indirect care duties.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state CNA license required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

3. Experience: 0-6 months of CNA experience; on-the-job training provided.
