Unit Bio:
We are currently seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to join our newly created 40-bed medical surgical unit with a focus on patients requiring a longer length of stay.This transitional care unit bridges the gap between various providers, services, and settings.Our interprofessional team consists of geriatrics, nursing, providers and activities teams trying to alter the plan of care to promote engagement in art, games, and socialization to preserve the health and morale of the population.
Our nurses, patient care technicians, and CNAs exemplify analytic ability to identify patient needs, risks, and interventions. We provide excellent customer service to patients and families at their current health states and learning abilities. As a team, we continually demonstrate exceptional communication abilities, always effectively interacting and problem-solving with other healthcare professionals, hospital administration, patients and families.This unit invites registered nurses seeking a well-rounded, patient focused opportunity within the Maine Health system to apply.
Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurses and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
The Certified Nursing Assistant - Acute Care role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
