Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire students for our AHC CNA Academy who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Upon successful completion of the six-week course and receiving certification as a licensed CNA from the MBON, you will be promoted to a department at one of our acute care entities: Shady Grove Medical Center, White Oak Medical Center, AHC Rehabilitation - Rockville, or Fort Washington Medical Center.

As a CNA Student, You Will

• Desire certification as a nursing assistant and engage in professional development through participation in the Adventist HealthCare Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program.
• Develop the clinical competence required of the certified nursing assistant (CNA) role, leading to successful performance in the CNA role at Adventist HealthCare.
• Develop clinical competence through various modalities, including classroom, simulation, and clinical application on patient care units (clinical hours overseen by educator). Clinical competence includes technical skills (e.g., VS, Accu-check, mobility devices, activities of daily living, feeding) and interpersonal skills (e.g., building relationships with patients and team members).
• Demonstrate a positive outlook on safety, lifelong learning, professionalism, and patient experience throughout the program.

Qualifications Include

• High School diploma required
• English proficiency: reading, writing, and spoken required
• Background check for healthcare employees required
• Basic computer skills required
• Demonstrates a positive outlook on safety, lifelong learning, professionalism, and patient experience throughout the program

Work Schedule

• Six-week CNA training program (8-12 hours shift M-F) concluding with certification once all training requirements are met.
• Upon receiving CNA certification by Maryland Board of Nursing, the CNA graduate will continue employment at the assigned AHC entity.
• Entities for placement include Shady Grove Medical Center, White Oak Medical Center, AHC Rehabilitation - Rockville, and Fort Washington Medical Center.

This cohort starts on July 21, 2025.

• No program fees
• CNA trainees are full-time compensated AHC employees
• Quality classroom learning and practical clinical training in a hospital setting
• Training materials and two sets of scrubs provided
• No prior patient care experience necessary

Pay Range

$17.15 - $22.79

If the salary is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem, salary discussions will occur during screening.
