MaineHealth is offering limited-time sign-on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

Bonus eligibility requires being hired into a Full or Part-time CNA position. Bonuses are prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former employees are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation.

Unit Bio:

R2 is a fast-paced, 37-bed medical telemetry unit providing exceptional care to a diverse adult patient population, with a focus on Stroke patients. Maine Medical Center is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Joint Commission. Our team takes pride in delivering high-quality care to this specialized patient group.

The R2 clinical nursing team includes innovative professionals committed to high nursing and care standards. Our nurses, patient care technicians, and CNAs excel in identifying patient needs, risks, and interventions, and provide excellent customer service to patients and families. We emphasize effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving with healthcare professionals, hospital staff, patients, and families.

Summary:

Under the supervision of Registered Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with hygiene and daily activities. Duties may vary by area. Consideration of the specific needs and behaviors of patient populations is required.

The CNA in Acute Care assists in administering nursing care to designated patients under RN supervision, performing both direct and indirect care duties.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Current applicable state license as a CNA required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: 0-6 months CNA experience; on-the-job training provided.
