Otterbein is seeking a Full-time Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA/STNA to assist in the growth of our Hospice ministry. Otterbein Ashanti Hospice complements our strong independent senior services, outpatient capabilities, and clinical facilities at Otterbein.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care
• Ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity to patients and their families, respecting patient rights
• Maintains a positive, professional manner
• Keeps records of hospice CNA plan of care for each patient
• Observes, records, and reports patient’s care, symptoms, emotional and physical status
• Watches, observes, and reports any physical and behavioral changes to the RN
• Assists in feeding the patient as needed
• Performs incidental household services essential to patient health care
• Does patient laundry, as appropriate
• Communicates appropriately with patients, families, and agency personnel
• Attends required in-services and meetings (minimum 12 hours annually)
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and problem-solve
• Participates in QAPI activities as indicated

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18
• Completed at least 9th grade; high school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA/STNA certification required
• Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience in an institutional or home care setting; community health/hospice experience preferred
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and needs of terminally ill
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation as per Ohio requirements
