Position: Full-time, Night shift

Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts, Weekends Required

Sign-on Bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • $2,500 for 0-1 years of experience (full-time)
  • $4,000 for 1+ years of experience (full-time)

Eligibility:

  • Hired into a Full or Part-time CNA position; bonus prorated for Part-time hires; Per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former employees are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation.

Unit Bio:

Bean 5/IMC/AVU is a high-paced 34-bed medical intermediate care unit. The patient population includes acute on chronic states, respiratory failure, complex vascular, surgical, neuroscience conditions, sepsis, and multisystem organ failure. The unit requires constant assessment, coordination, and interventions. The Assisted Ventilation Unit (AVU) manages patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, and frequent assessments.

Job Summary:

Under supervision of Registered Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs duties such as taking vital signs and assisting with hygiene and activities of daily living. Duties may vary by area. Consideration of patient-specific needs and behaviors is required.

The CNA II assists in nursing care delivery under RN supervision, performing direct and indirect care duties.

Minimum Requirements (KSAs):

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Current applicable state license as a CNA required
  • Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start
  • At least one year of relevant experience required
