Job summary

Signature HealthCARE in Norfolk is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in providing compassionate, resident-centered care in a 169-bed setting. You will perform ADLs, assist with transfers, monitor vitals, and support a safe, clean environment under licensed supervision.

PT days 7am–3pm with a strong benefits package. This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and respectful interactions with residents and families, with opportunities for growth within our Signature Perks

Qualifications

• Active Nursing Assistant certification in the required state.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and vendors.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to handle pressure.
• Independence with personal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care under licensed supervision.
• Assist with ADLs within resident plan of care.
• Change bed linens and maintain supplies.
• Ambulate and transfer residents with assistive devices.
• Record vitals, weights, intake/output, and meals.
• Turn and position residents regularly.
• Support resident rights and housekeeping standards.
• Answer call lights promptly and assist needs.
• Assist in orientation and training of staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How you Will make a difference

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

• Provide activities of daily living (ADLs) within the scope of practice as defined by state regulation and the resident’s plan of care.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.
• Recognize and support resident rights and choices within the care environment.
• Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with resident needs.
• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
• Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

What you Need to make a Difference

• Current, active Nursing Assistant certification from state in which the facility operates.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team and under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
• Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and vendors.
