About the Role:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in our 53-bed unit, you’ll care for a diverse range of patients in adult cardiology and medical-surgical specialties, including pacemaker placements, CHF, ACS, telemetry monitoring, and chronic conditions like diabetes, COPD, and addiction. You’ll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care.

• Assist licensed nursing personnel in the provision of nursing care.
• Participate as a member of the healthcare team under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with clerical functions, housekeeping, and patient transportation throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Provide care delegated and supervised by a registered nurse to meet the needs of clients based on their condition, development, and age.
• Participate and implement interdisciplinary care plans as delegated.
• Organize and adapt care plans considering patient needs, desires, and routines.
• Reinforce priorities in the care plan and promote patient independence and self-care when appropriate.
• Identify normal and abnormal mental functions and address the needs of cognitively impaired patients.
• Maintain a safe environment by avoiding hazards, using restraints properly, and following infection control procedures.
• Recognize signs of common diseases and communicate findings accurately and promptly.
• Provide basic nutrition and oral fluid intake.
• Recognize emergencies and respond appropriately, demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Complete documentation according to guidelines.

Competency

Demonstrate knowledge of statutes and regulations, functioning within the legal scope of CNA practice. Maintain clinical competency by:

• Keeping current certification.
• Performing acts within the scope of practice for which certified.
• Continuously updating technical skills.
• Completing education and clinical experience as required for specific tasks.

Compensation: $20.39 - $27.61 hourly wage
