Job description

· Completion of an accredited training program for Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Illinois

· BLS Certification required or willingness to obtain within 3 months

EXPERIENCE:

· CNA minimum 1 year Preferred

SKILLS:

· Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

· Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs

· Ability to work independently, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

JOB DUTIES:

NATURE OF WORK:

Provides direct and indirect, as well as restorative, resident patient care under the direction of Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Assists residents with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of residents. Performs any combination of the following duties in care of patients in an extended care facility under the direction of nursing staff: Answers call lights, assists in bathing, dressing and undressing patients, serves and collects food trays, feeds patients, transports patients using a wheelchair or geriatric chair, assists patients in walking and transferring, turns and repositions bedfast patients, changes bed linens, takes and records blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration, monitors food and fluid intake and output, and cleans patient rooms.
