Shift Differential: $1.50

Job Summary

Provides residents with daily nursing care in accordance with standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensuring high-quality care at all times.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a nursing arts course and competency evaluation or military training with similar content.
• At least 16 years old, with good moral character, honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Current CPR certification or certification within two weeks of employment.
• Interest and/or knowledge in caring for the ill, disabled, and elderly; ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with others.

Physical and Emotional Requirements

• Ability to move intermittently, cope with stress, and meet sensory requirements.
• Good health and emotional stability.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment over 50 pounds.

Essential Functions

• Follow nursing procedures and protocols.
• Assist residents with daily activities and develop care plans.
• Participate in care planning and resident/family meetings.
• Report concerns and monitor resident safety and comfort.
• Maintain a warm and positive environment.
• Participate in training and orientation programs.
• Assist with personal possessions and discharge procedures.
• Record vital signs, bowel movements, and other health indicators.
• Perform bed-making, room cleaning, and respond to call lights.
• Assist with feeding, hydration, and hygiene.
• Participate in quality assurance and perform other duties as assigned.
