Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or charge nurse, provides individualized care to residents, promoting independence, safety, and comfort. Starting hourly rate is $17.00/hour, increasing with experience. Part Time Plus hours are 30-35 hrs/week.

Essential Job Functions

Makes rounds to meet resident needs, including toileting, turning, repositioning, hydration, and tidiness of rooms.
Observes and reports signs of illness or skin breakdown.
Provides personal care, assists with meals, and documents intake.
Positions residents safely, takes vital signs, and assists with bladder/bowel training.
Responds promptly to resident call lights and communicates effectively with staff and residents.
Assists with admissions, discharges, and post-mortem care.
Performs safety checks, maintains infection control, and documents care provided.
Supports residents in activities and mobility, and participates in emergency drills.
Ensures cleanliness of residents’ rooms and equipment.
Mentors new staff and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification from Virginia.
Prior experience preferred.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, communicate effectively, and use healthcare equipment.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Within first 90 days, obtain CDP designation and complete CNA Skills Review.
