Job summary

Smith County Health and Rehab is seeking a dedicated CNA to support residents in a 128-bed long-term care setting. The role focuses on daily living activities, vital signs, and compassionate assistance to residents under nursing supervision.

The position requires a current state CNA certification and strong communication skills. Prior LTC experience is preferred, with opportunities for career growth and team collaboration within a friendly, small-town environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a current state CNA certification.
• At least one year of CNA experience in a Long Term Care setting is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of MatrixCare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend to residents' needs including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.
• Record and monitor vital signs and weight, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist nurses with daily tasks and care planning as directed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Ensure resident safety and dignity during care activities.

CNA's are responsible for the following:

• Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.
• Responsible for taking and recording patient vital signs lifting, moving and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics.
• Recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions to a nurse management. Asking appropriate questions to clarify situations.
• Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.
• Demonstrating the ability to assist the nurse with various duties as directed.

CNA Requirements:

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a Long Term Care setting is highly preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a current state certification as a CNA.
• Knowledge of MatrixCare preferred.
