Job summary

Prisma Health's Oconee Memorial Hospital seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the Medical/Surgical Nursing team. You will follow the individualized care plan, perform basic nursing activities, and document patient status in the medical record.

Day shift opportunities at the Oconee Medical Campus offer hands-on experience in a collaborative environment, with supervision provided by RNs. Nursing assistant training and SC CNA certification are required or in lieu accepted.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
• South Carolina CNA certification accepted in lieu of school verification at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Perform data collection including vital signs and intake/output.
• Document observations in the medical record and inform the RN of changes.
• Provide a clean, safe patient environment and respond to call lights.

Job Summary

Assists in providing patient care based on the individualized plan of care for a patient. As delegated, performs basic nursing activities. Conducts data collection, monitors and documents patient status. Ensures confidentiality of all patient information. Utilizes safe patient handling at all times. Informs RN of activities performed observations of patients and changes in patient status. Provides a neat and clean patient environment.

Essential Functions

• Assists patients with activities of daily living. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated.
• Provides patient care as delegated by the RN including, but not limited to, non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, perineal care.
• Performs data collection including vital signs, fluid intake and outtake and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly documents and maintains data on medical record and informs RN of activities performed, observations of patients and changes in patient status.
• Runs errands, answers telephone, answers and responds to call lights.
• Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN.
• Provides and documents comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
• Experience - No experience required.

In Lieu Of

• In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former South Carolina CN A certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
