Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant II for the part-time day shift in Lewiston, ME. The CNA II will monitor cardiac rhythms, assist with activities of daily living, and provide basic nursing care under RN supervision within the CNA I scope of practice.

A comprehensive benefits package is offered and compensation is determined at hire. Qualifications include current patient care certification, dysrhythmia interpretation, BLS, and preferred experience as a Monitor

Qualifications

• Certification in Patient Care required.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation certificate preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and kept current.
• Six months Monitor Technician experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• EKG certification preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitoring.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care.
• Maintain a safe environment under RN direction and CNA I scope of practice when applicable.

Responsibilities

The Certified Nursing Assistant II (CNA II) is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care in the department setting. The CNA II is responsible to monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitor. May assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN and within the scope of the Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I) job description as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).

2. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current

4. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.

5. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.

6. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.

7. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

8. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $23.00 to $26.75. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
