Unit Bio:
Bean 5/IMC/AVU is a high-paced 34-bed medical intermediate care unit. The patient population includes acute on chronic states, respiratory failure, complex vascular, general surgical, neuroscience conditions, sepsis, and multisystem organ failure. Constant assessment, coordination, and interventions are essential. Patients in the Assisted Ventilation Unit (AVU) may require mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, and frequent assessments.
Summary:
Under supervision of Registered Nurses, performs duties such as taking vital signs and assisting with hygiene and daily activities. Duties vary by area. Consideration of patient-specific needs is required.
The CNA II assists in nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing direct and indirect care duties.
