Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay on-site in Virginia Beach is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for full-time day or night shifts. This Dozoretz Hospice House setting offers compassionate respite and end-of-life care in a homelike environment, with twelve private suites and strong resident-family focus.

The role involves supporting patients with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining infection-control standards while collaborating with a caring healthcare

Qualifications

• Current CNA license in the State of Virginia (unencumbered).
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Willingness to complete a food sanitation course after hire.
• Flu-Vaccinated.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities, mobility, and personal care.
• Monitor and record vital signs as part of the care plan.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment in compliance with infection control protocols.
• Assist with meal preparation and serving, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
• Communicate patient needs and changes to the healthcare team.

Hourly (Non-exempt)

Schedule:

Full-Time; Day or Night Shift available (three 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends).

As a Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to patients during their end-of-life journey.

What You’ll Do In This Role

• Assist patients with daily activities, mobility, and personal care.
• Monitor and record vital signs as part of the care plan.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment in compliance with infection control protocols.
• Assist with meal preparation and serving, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
• Communicate patient needs and changes to the healthcare team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to assist with patient transfers and mobility (up to 100 lbs with assistance)

The Experience You’ll Bring

• Current CNA license in the State of Virginia (unencumbered)
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire)
• Willingness to complete a food sanitation course after hire
• Flu-Vaccinated

Preferred

• Hands -on clinical experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation Range: $18.17- $20.00/hour (based on relevant experience)
