Job summary

Covenant Woods in Virginia, Mechanicsville, is seeking a full-time CNA to provide direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, promoting dignity, independence, and safety.

You will support activities of daily living, vital signs, feeding, mobility, and documentation, with a rotating two-week schedule including every other weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Virginia CNA license is required.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities to support resident comfort and well-being.
• Take and record vital signs, weights, and dietary intake as assigned.
• Assist with feeding, transfers, and mobility using mobility aids as appropriate.
• Assist with meal delivery, serving residents, and maintaining clean dining areas.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow regulatory requirements and Covenant Woods policies.

FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITY IN HEALTHCARE ONLY

Base Pay Range: $19.00–$26.00 per hour, based on years of experience + Shift Differentials Available

Shifts Available: Day, Evening, and Night Shifts

Schedule: All shifts are 8 hours, with a two-week rotating schedule that includes every other weekend.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Assist residents with activities of daily living, personal care, comfort, and safety while promoting dignity, independence, and resident satisfaction. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to support resident comfort and well-being.
• Take and record vital signs, weights, and dietary intake as assigned.
• Assist residents with feeding, transfers, and mobility using wheelchairs, walkers, and other equipment as appropriate.
• Assist with meal delivery, serving residents, distributing ice, water, and nourishment, and maintaining clean dining and resident areas.
• Provide activities and restorative care as directed.
• Clean and store equipment appropriately.
• Keep the Charge Nurse informed of resident and employee concerns.
• Provide resident-centered care that promotes dignity, respect, and individual needs.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, thoroughly, and on time.
• Follow applicable regulatory requirements, safety standards, and Covenant Woods policies.
• Respond to residents, team members, and visitors in a calm, courteous, and cooperative manner.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Complete required annual in-services and attend scheduled training sessions and staff meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and resident satisfaction.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensed in the State of Virginia.

• Current basic CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Preferred

• Minimum of six (6) months experience as a CNA.

• Experience in a Continuing Care and Retirement Community (CCRC) or Healthcare setting is highly desirable.
