Job description

We are hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - FT Nights/Weekends for one of our clients in Penn Yan, NY.

Job Description:

Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, performs direct and indirect resident care within the scope of practice as defined by certification. The CNA must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patients of various ages. The individual should understand growth and development principles and be able to assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs, providing necessary care for adult and geriatric patients.

  1. Meet residents' ADL needs as outlined in the care plan, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination, turning/positioning, and skin care.
  2. Complete documentation as per protocol.
  3. Maintain the resident's environment and safety, including prompt response to call lights, use of safety equipment, cleanliness, behavior, fall prevention, and equipment monitoring.
  4. Meet residents' nutritional needs, including meal delivery, tray setup, adaptive equipment, and respecting preferences.
  5. Address rehabilitative needs such as range of motion, ambulation, transfers, and proper body alignment, documenting as required.
  6. Report residents' rights, refusals, and concerns timely to charge or supervising nurse.
  7. Identify and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or psychosocial status promptly.
  8. Handle occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues safely.
Qualifications:
  • NY State Nursing Assistant Certification + BLS (AHA or RQI)
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
  • Minimum one year of LTC experience
  • Licensed for at least one year
Work Hours:
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours/week after lunch breaks
  • Night shifts from 10 PM to 6 AM
  • Every weekend with two consecutive days off during the week
  • Holiday shifts required
  • Position may combine two part-time night needs
Notes:
  • Contract with potential to become permanent
