Job summary

Signature HealthCARE in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. CNAs deliver direct resident care under licensed nurses, promoting a compassionate environment and honoring resident rights and choices.

You will perform ADLs, change linens, assist with transfers, record vital signs, and help train other staff. This full-time evening shift (3pm–11pm) includes shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current, active Nursing Assistant certification from state where the facility operates.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team and under licensed nursing staff.
• Customer-service oriented with ability to work under pressure.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• Able to work independently with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide ADLs within the scope of practice as defined by state regulation and the resident’s plan of care.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.
• Recognize and support resident rights and choices within the care environment.
• Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with resident needs.
• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
• Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

How you Will make a difference

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
