PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center | Cottage Grove, OR

Part-Time | 0.60 FTE | Evening Shift (1000-2230)

Pay Range: $22.65 - $33.97 per hour

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Make a Difference Where Every Shift Matters

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy meaningful patient interaction, and want the variety and challenge that comes with emergency care, this is an opportunity to join a close-knit Emergency Department where your work is seen, valued, and essential every day.

Why PeaceHealth? Why Now?

Join an Emergency Department where you'll be a hands-on caregiver, trusted teammate, and critical part of the patient experience from the moment someone walks through the door.

  • Work alongside experienced RNs, providers, and healthcare professionals in a collaborative community hospital environment.
  • Build valuable Emergency Department experience caring for patients with a wide range of medical needs, conditions, and acuity levels.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of a per diem role while gaining exposure to diverse clinical situations that help grow your healthcare career.
  • Be part of a team that relies on CNAs as active contributors to patient care, comfort, safety, and flow.
  • Serve a community where compassionate, personalized care makes a visible impact every day.
What You'll Do

As a CNA in our Emergency Department, you'll help patients feel supported, comfortable, and cared for during some of their most vulnerable moments.

You’ll:

  • Assist patients with personal care, mobility, comfort, and daily living needs.
  • Take and document vital signs and other patient information.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
  • Support patients as they move safely throughout the Emergency Department.
  • Help patients with eating, hydration, toileting, grooming, and comfort measures.
  • Assist nurses with treatments and patient care activities within your CNA scope of practice.
  • Maintain stocked patient rooms and clinical supply areas.
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Support department operations through unit coordination, phone communication, and clerical tasks as needed.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and patient volumes throughout the shift.

Because emergency care never stops, caregivers in this department must be comfortable working flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as patient care needs require.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained through American Heart Association or American Red Cross, upon hire.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment.
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 department schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of CNA experience.
  • Previous experience in an acute care hospital, Emergency Department, or other fast-paced clinical setting.
Nice to Have

Candidates with at least one year of CNA experience, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting, will be prioritized. Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing changing priorities, and supporting a variety of patient care needs is highly valued.

We know great caregivers come from many backgrounds. If you're newer to the profession but have strong patient care skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, we still encourage you to apply.

A flexible schedule, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly can help you thrive in this emergency care environment while maintaining the work-life balance that's important to you.
