Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for DeMay Living Center in Newark, NY. The full-time night shift offers 10p-6am, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and holidays.

Responsibilities include patient care, safety, and documentation in collaboration with the nursing team. CNA certification in NYS and ability to lift 20-50 lbs are required; a signing bonus up to $4,500 is available.

Department: Long Term Care

Location: DeMay Living Center- 100 Sunset Drive Newark, NY 14513

Hours Per Week: 37.5 hr./ week

Schedule: Full-time Nights, 10p-6am Monday- Friday, every other weekend and holiday

Signing Bonus : Up to $4,500

SUMMARY

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide high quality, individualized patient care in collaboration with the nursing team. Your ability to take initiative while always assisting and maintaining patient care will be critical in the success of the entire team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Care & Service. Provide and/or assist the resident in activities necessary as per individualized care planning; transport to and from activities as needed; provide leisure activities as needed; perform evaluation and reporting; provide resident and family with emotional support

Safety. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe resident environment

Communication & Documentation. Support families, direct them to appropriate professional staff; respond to resident requests in a timely manner; receive/give reports to team members/team leaders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age requirement: 18
• Currently certified in New York State as a Certified Nursing Assistant

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• High School diploma or equivalent

CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - NYS Office of ProfessionsNew York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
