Job summary

Providence St Elias Specialty Hospital-Anchorage is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision, assisting RNs and LPNs in a patient-centered environment.

This full-time role covers 36-hour weeks with day shifts, offering a $2,500 hiring bonus for eligible external hires and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification required.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Some college coursework in nursing or therapy preferred.
• 3 months nursing assistant experience in acute or extended care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
• Assist with basic nursing tasks and activities of daily living as needed.
• Support patient comfort, safety, and dignity in a team-based care setting.

Provides and assists in the provision of, direct patient care under the supervision of a RN/LPN and whose activities require an understanding of basic anatomical, biological, psychological, cultural, and social sciences.

Hours: Full Time 36-hour weekly, (3) 12-hour shifts weekly

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of an Alaska state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education which meets state certification requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Some college courses in nursing or therapy field.
• 3 months Nursing assistant experience in acute or extended care.
