Position Description

A nursing assistant responsible for providing routine nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, to ensure the highest quality resident care at all times.

Qualifications

• Have a license as a certified nursing assistant.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience while enrolled in a CNA certification program.
• Sincere desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and ability to handle residents at various maturity levels.
• Good health and emotional stability.
• Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile individuals.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned according to facility policies, nursing care procedures, and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours to provide quality care.
• Verify resident identity before providing care or serving food.
• Report missing ID bands immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are cleaned, filled, and within residents' reach.
• Other duties as directed by supervisors.
