Summary of Duties

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and services to residents as per their assessment and care plan.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Assist in providing nursing care to residents, including activities of daily living such as bathing, eating, grooming, toileting, and obtaining vital signs.
  2. Provide and document medication assistance as directed.
  3. Assist residents in preparing for medical testing, activities, and visitation.
  4. Maintain residents' living areas, including cleaning and changing linens.
  5. Greet and escort newly admitted residents.
  6. Report changes in residents' condition to the charge nurse immediately.
  7. Check residents routinely to ensure their personal care needs are met.
  8. Assist in transporting residents for appointments and activities.
  9. Assist with lifting, turning, moving, and positioning residents.
  10. Record blood sugar levels using the appropriate equipment.
  11. Use Smart Charting IPAC to record ADLs and meals.
  12. Complete incident reports promptly.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or obtain certification within 4 months of hire. CNA experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
  1. Must be able to move consistently throughout the workday.
  2. Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop intermittently.
  3. Must have adequate vision and hearing or use prosthetics.
  4. Must be able to push, pull, or move at least 100 pounds with proper mechanics and assistance.
  5. Must be able to walk/stand for 75% of the day.
  6. Must cope with mental and emotional stress.
