Summary of Duties

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and services to residents according to their assessment and care plan, under direction.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, eating, grooming, toileting, and taking vital signs.
  2. Provide and document medication assistance as directed.
  3. Help residents prepare for medical testing, activities, and visitation.
  4. Keep residents’ living areas clean and change linens as directed.
  5. Greet new residents, escort them to their rooms, and report any changes in their condition to the charge nurse promptly.
  6. Ensure residents’ personal care needs are met, respecting their wishes.
  7. Transport residents to appointments and activities as needed.
  8. Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents.
  9. Record blood sugar levels using the appropriate device.
  10. Use the Smart Charting IPAC system to document ADLs and meals.
  11. Complete incident reports timely.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or obtain certification within 4 months of hire. CNA experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to move consistently throughout the workday.
  2. Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as needed.
  3. Good vision and hearing or use of prosthetics to meet job requirements.
  4. Ability to push, pull, or move at least 100 pounds with proper body mechanics and assistance.
  5. Stand or walk for approximately 75% of the day.
  6. Ability to handle mental and emotional stress.
