Summary of Duties

Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents, in accordance with their assessment and care plan.

Essential Job Functions

1. Assist in providing nursing care to residents, including activities of daily living such as bathing, eating, grooming, toileting, and obtaining vital signs.
2. Provide and document medication assistance as directed.
3. Assist residents in preparing for medical testing, activities, programs, and visitation.
4. Maintain residents' living areas, keeping them clean and neat, and change linens as directed.
5. Greet newly admitted residents and escort them to their rooms.
6. Report changes in residents' conditions, such as skin issues, mental status, or medical needs, to the charge nurse immediately.
7. Check residents routinely to ensure their personal care needs are being met according to their wishes.
8. Assist in transporting residents for appointments, activities, and social programs.
9. Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents as needed.
10. Obtain and record residents’ blood sugar levels using the appropriate device.
11. Use the Smart Charting IPAC system to record ADLs and meals.
12. Complete incident reports promptly.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or obtain certification within 4 months of hire. CNA experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

1. Must be able to move throughout the workday.
2. Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently.
3. Must have adequate vision and hearing or use prosthetics to meet job requirements.
4. Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds with proper body mechanics and assistance.
5. Must be able to walk/stand for 75% of the day.
6. Must cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
