Job summary

Ridgeview Institute Smyrna seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our active treatment team under RN supervision. You will provide continuous patient care, assist with daily living activities, and help implement treatment plans to support patient progress.

The ideal candidate has a Georgia CNA license, at least one year of related experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent. This is a full-time position with a $1,500 sign-on bonus and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of related experience preferred; knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques.
• Must have a valid Georgia Certified Nursing Assistant license and a valid Georgia driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs correctly.
• Observe changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or progress toward goals.
• Communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team.
• Document the treatment plan, interventions, and patient responses.
• Employ crisis intervention techniques as needed.
• Assist patients with hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Advocate for patient rights.

How will you make a difference?

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is an active treatment team member. Depending on which unit works, CNAs provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients. They work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

• Take and record vital signs correctly.
• Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and document changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
• Communicate changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse.
• Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
• Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions, and the patient's response to the intervention.
• Employ appropriate crisis intervention techniques as needed
• Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Act as the patient's advocate and uphold the patient's rights.

Your Experience Matters What We're Looking For

• Education: A high school degree or equivalent is preferred. An accredited degree in social work, recreational therapy, or an appropriate therapeutic discipline is also preferred.
• Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Licensure: Must have a valid Georgia Certified Nursing Assistant license. Must maintain a valid driver's license in the state of Georgia.

Compensation
