Training for CNA to Med-Aide Transition (Will Train)

As a CNA, you will provide quality nursing care and promote resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality. You will also give individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

You Will:

1. Follow individualized care plans and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of residents' needs and preferences.
2. Attend to residents' needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, and communication, in accordance with care requirements.
3. Maintain skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
4. Protect residents' personal belongings and report missing items promptly according to policy.
5. Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, and lift, move, and transport residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
6. Document care according to department policies.
7. Follow safety and infection control procedures.
8. Communicate tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Requirements:

1. Possess a valid CNA certification in the state of employment.
2. Ability to obtain CPR/BLS certification.
