Job summary

Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation in Owensboro, KY, is seeking a compassionate CNA to join our night-shift team. We prioritize resident well-being and employee happiness, offering a family-like culture and meaningful activities for staff and residents.

You will assist residents with bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility; take vital signs; and report changes to the nurse in charge. A CNA certificate and Kentucky certification are required, with prior long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting is highly preferred.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Aide Assistant program.
• Must possess and maintain a current state certification as a CNA

Responsibilities

• Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.
• Record and monitor resident vital signs and assist with lifting/mobility.
• Report changes in resident condition to a nurse manager.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Assist the nurse with duties as directed.

CNA Job Duties:

• Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.

• Responsible for taking and recording patient vital signs, lifting, moving, and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics.

• Recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions to a nurse management. Asking appropriate questions to clarify situations.

• Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

• Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.

• Demonstrating the ability to assist the nurse with various duties as directed.

CNA Requirements:

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting is highly preferred.
