Job summary

Aperion Care Oak Lawn is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential resident care including hygiene, meals, mobility and comfort. You will monitor vital signs, document activities, and report observations to nursing staff, while maintaining residents' privacy and dignity in accordance with HIPAA and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the care team, adapting to resident care plans, and supporting social engagement.

Qualifications

  • Active CNA license in good standing.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Willingness to take additional state-mandated training.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care based on residents' care plans.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, meals, mobility and social engagement.
  • Monitor vital signs, document care activities, and report observations to nursing staff.
  • Communicate with clinical leadership when a resident's needs change.
  • Care for residents with dementia.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support resident health and safety.

Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential care and support to residents, assisting with daily living activities such as hygiene, meals, mobility, and comfort. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, documenting care activities, and reporting observations to nursing supervisors. CNAs ensure residents' privacy and dignity while adhering to HIPAA guidelines, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. They contribute to a safe and supportive environment, participate in educational opportunities to maintain certification, and perform other duties as assigned to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Be able to perform all functions under your active license or certification or as it pertains to your assigned duties.
  • Know the residents you serve, providing care based on their care plans.
  • Assist in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement.
  • Appropriately communicate with clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change.
  • Know how to approach and care for residents with dementia.
  • Be willing to take on other duties and assignments within the scope of your knowledge and experience.
Qualifications:
  • An active Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) License or Certification in good standing.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to take additional training or education, which specific states may require.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable while handling multiple priorities.
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
