Maxim Healthcare is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants/Personal Care Assistants to join our home care team in North Carolina. In this role, you will provide essential personal care services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Positions available vary in schedules and patient types, including pediatric and adult care. A sign-on bonus of $500 is offered for immediate consideration.

Qualifications

Job description

Salary: $16- $18/ Per Hour

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Personal Care Assistant is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patients’ needs.

Case(1)-Sevierville

Any day of the week. 11a-6p. Adult Patient.

Case(2)-Clinton

Monday-Friday. 6:30a-6:30p. Pediatric Patient(School Case)

Case(3)-Maryville

Monday-Friday. 8a-4p. Pediatric Patient.

Case(4)-Knoxville

Monday-Friday. 10a-6p. Pediatric Patient

Case(5)-Knoxville

Monday-Thursday or Friday-Saturday 11-7a. Adult Patient

Case(6)-Oak Ridge

Monday-Friday. 11a-6p. Adult Patient.

Case(7)-Oak Ridge

Monday-Friday Monday- Wednesday 8:30a-4:30p & Thursday 8:30a-2:30p

Case(8)-Harriman

Thursday & Friday. 3pm-11pm.(Pediatric Patient)

Case(9)-Harrogate

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9a-3p(Adult Patient)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Bathing (sponge bath, shower, tub, shampoo)
    • Back rubs
    • Grooming (nail filing, hair care, oral hygiene)
    • Changing bed linen
    • Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
    • Skin care to prevent breakdown
    • Assisting the patient with toileting activities
    • Keeping patient’s living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
  • Plans and prepares nutritious meals
  • Assists in feeding the patient, if necessary
  • Takes and records oral and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Assists with mobility, positioning, transfers, and using transfer/mobility devices as applicable, according to the plan if care
  • Assists with active and passive range of motion exercises and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency
  • Assists patient in the self-administration of medication
  • Does patient’s laundry, as appropriate
  • Meets safety needs of patients, including proper use of equipment (foot stools, side rails, etc.), maintains compliance with Maxim Falls Prevention program, Infection Control program, and patient-specific Emergency Management plan as applicable
  • Reports patient’s condition and significant changes to the supervising Registered Nurse
  • Adherence to Maxim’s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant/home health aide or competency training and evaluation program as applicable, per State/Federal regulations
  • Successful completion of Maxim’s Clinical Competency Program for home health aides, including successful completion of examinations with score of 80% or higher, and demonstration of all required skills per State/Federal regulations
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
  • Meets Maxim and applicable State Background Investigation requirements
  • Possession of current CPR certification and First Aid training/certification as applicable, per State regulations
  • Participation in Tuberculosis screening/testing requirements per Maxim policy and as applicable, per State regulation
  • Successful completion of Maxim’s orientations/trainings, in-service program, and Maxim training examinations, with a score of 80% or greater
