Job summary

Waterview Nursing Care Center is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to join our dynamic team in New York. We offer three shifts (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a) and are a 1199 union facility looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions.

All candidates must be able to work a minimum of every other weekend. As a CNA, you will provide comprehensive patient care, including grooming, mobility assistance, medication support, meal services, and vital sign monitoring, while collaborating with nursing

Responsibilities

• Grooming and bathing patients with low mobility
• Preparing each patient room with blankets, pillows, medical equipment and bathroom needs
• Helping patients eat and take medications
• Ensuring patients have regular meals and proper medication dosages
• Monitoring vitals and patient behavior and reporting to nursing/medical staff
• Assisting patients with mobility needs and transfers from wheelchair to bed
• Turning or adjusting patients to prevent bedsores or discomfort
• Encouraging patients to walk and exercise as prescribed

Our Certified Nursing Assistants are responsible for many patient care tasks to ensure that each patient receives the comprehensive and personalized care they need. Responsibilities may include the following:

• Grooming and bathing patients with low mobility

• Preparing each patient room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment and bathroom needs.

• Helping patients eat and take medications

• Making sure they have regular meals and proper medication dosages

• Monitoring vitals and patient behavior and reporting them to the nursing and medical staff

• Assisting patients with mobility needs, transferring them from wheelchair to bed

• Turning or adjusting patients in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfort

• Exercising patients by helping them walk
