Job summary

Central Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support residents with daily living activities, monitor health conditions, and document care using SigmaCare.

You will work as part of a team, maintain patient safety, assist with feeding, baths, transfers, and attend training to stay current with care policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Current and valid NY CNA certification.
• Experience in caregiving or patient care settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems SigmaCare is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic life support as needed and respond to emergencies.
• Assist nursing staff with procedures and documentation in SigmaCare.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control protocols.
• Transport residents within the facility and assist with feeding and meals.

Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include, delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming

• Help Residents with personal hygiene

• Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse

• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure

• Provide basic life support as needed and respond promptly to patient emergencies.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols

• Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation using electronic health record systems such as SigmaCare

• Document Resident food and fluid intake

• Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements

• Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy

• Transport Residents within the facility

• Assist nurses and other staff as needed

• Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures

• Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards

• Maintain the confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care

• Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care
