A medical services company in New York City is looking to add a new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to their team in the Bronx. IN this role, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will be responsible for assisting with providing and implementing medical care and services for clients with a history of chemical dependence.
About the Opportunity:
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire possibility)
Shift: Evenings or Nights
Schedule: Monday to Friday (alternating weekends)
Hours: 3pm to 11pm or 11pm to 7am
Responsibilities:
Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
Provide support during detoxification and rehabilitation processes
Assist in the administration of medications under the supervision of nursing staff
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Support patients in their recovery journey by offering emotional and psychological support
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Participate in health education and counseling sessions
Assist with psychiatric evaluations and HIV counseling & testing
Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients
Conduct patient intakes and ongoing searches
Perform rounding and monitor vital signs
Report adverse events to nursing staff
Provide basic patient care
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Basic knowledge of addiction and recovery processes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Desired Skills:
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Previous experience in a Detox/Rehab or similar Healthcare setting
