What you will do in this role

• Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.
• Provide morning care including bed bath, shower or whirlpool, oral hygiene, hair care, back care, changing linens, cleaning over bed table and bedside stand, and general care as necessary throughout the day.
• Provide evening care including face and hand washing, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, linen changes, cleaning over bed tables, and general care as needed.
• Prepare patients for meals, serve and remove food trays, and assist with feeding if necessary.
• Respond to patient call lights, anticipate needs, and make rounds to assigned patients.
• Assist patients with handling personal property such as dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, and prosthetic devices.
• Report and record any changes in patient condition or behavior and any incidents.
• Assist licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of course for nursing assistants
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant
• CPR/BCLS Certification
• Minimum six months experience in an acute or long-term care facility preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
