Overview

Provides quality direct resident care duties to the assigned residents according to their plan of care, complying with state, federal, and JCAHO standards. Assists in maintaining a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for all residents.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct resident care as directed by supervisors, following established care plans.
• Accurately documents care activities in the resident's records.
• Applies safety practices and proper body mechanics during personal and supportive care, including ambulating, transferring, assisting with range of motion, and positioning.
• Performs duties in a cost-effective manner, based on established standards for adults and geriatrics.
• Maintains performance, patient, staff satisfaction, and financial standards as outlined in evaluations.
• Complies with all organizational policies, including behavioral standards and use of electronic systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing, registered with the State of Alabama, or in training to become one.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPR certification within 150 days of employment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward the elderly.
