Job summary

Community First Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a full-time night shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) with rotating weekends/holidays. You will support nursing staff by delivering direct patient care, performing routine procedures, and helping with admissions, transfers, and safety.

The role requires CNA certification and BLS/CPR, plus preferred EPIC EMR experience. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential in this setting with a focus on patient

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant certification required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• EMR/EPIC experience preferred.
• One RN program clinical semester accepted in place of CNA.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as assigned by the registered nurse.
• Performs routine procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, vital signs, heights, weights, and more.
• Assists with patients’ activity and maintaining a safe environment.
• Observes patients and reports any changes in condition to the RN.
• Maintains patient room cleanliness and comfort.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge processes.
• Replenishes patient supplies as needed.
• Identifies patient education needs and informs the RN.

Position Available: Full Time

Shift: 11PM-7:30AM with rotating weekends/holidays

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse performs various duties to assist the nursing staff in meeting patient treatment and care requirements. All duties are carried out in accordance with the established policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides direct patient care as assigned by the registered nurse.
2. Performs routine procedures. such as: blood glucose monitoring, vital signs, heights, weights, and much more.
3. Assists with patients’ activity and providing a safe environment.
4. Observes patients while performing delegated tasks and reports any changes in patient’s condition.
5. Promotes and maintains an atmosphere for patient comfort. Keep patient’s room clean and orderly.
6. Provides skin care and is knowledgeable in care needed to maintain or improve skin integrity.
7. Assists with admissions, transfers and morgue transport and discharge of patient.
8. Replenishes patient’s supplies as needed.
9. Identifies patient/family education needs and reports them to the RN.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

• Able to communicate effective using written and verbal English
• EMR/EPIC experience preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification
• One semester of clinical completed in an RN program accepted in its place of CNA certification
• BLS/CPR certification required
