Job summary

Majestic Care of Carmel is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time evening shift to join our compassionate care team. The CNA will provide direct hands-on nursing care under supervision, support residents with daily activities, and help maintain a safe, respectful living environment.

The role emphasizes infection control, meticulous documentation, and collaboration with the nursing staff to promote residents’ highest level of functioning and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Currently certified and active CNA in the state of employment.
• Experience assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and daily nursing care.
• Respond to call lights to ensure safety and comfort.
• Transport residents between areas as needed (dining room, lobby, activities).
• Document significant findings to the nurse promptly.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes for smooth transitions.
• Maintain safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions and keep rooms neat.
• Follow proper infection control techniques and respect privacy.

Position Overview:

The CNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL).

• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.

• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities).

• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.

• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.

• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.

• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.

• Follow proper infection control techniques

• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.

• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.

• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.

• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.

• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.

• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.

• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.

Qualifications:

• Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
