Job Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support to patients by assisting with activities of daily living and ensuring their comfort and safety. CNAs work under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians, playing a crucial role in delivering compassionate and effective patient care. CNAs provide well supervised, safe, and therapeutic environments for the developmentally disabled or mentally ill patients in long-term care and acute settings.
International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is recruiting for a Certified Nursing Assistant to support our medical staffing projects in West Virginia.
Depending on our clients’ needs, CNAs may work in temporary, short-term, or long-term jobs. Recruited personnel might be working alongside our clients’ teams or as part of our own multidisciplinary groups. This role may take place in secured state facilities, medically remote locations, industrial projects or even in our own clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and using the bathroom.
- Serve and feed patients according to their dietary needs.
- Improve patient communication within interpersonal relationships and help facilitate the adjustment to their current living environment.
- Clean and maintain patient environments, including changing bed linens.
- Monitor and record vital signs like blook pressure and temperature.
- Help patients with mobility, including transferring them between wheelchairs, beds, and other seating.
- Turn and reposition bedridden patients to prevent bedsores.
- Provide physical and psychological support to patients.
- Report any health concerns or changes in patients' condition to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Assist in coordinating staff schedules and weekly patient assignments sheets for individualized patient care.

Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in direct patient care as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Experience in residential healthcare, a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided direct care.
- Psychiatric and Acute Care setting experience also satisfies requirements.
- If assigned to one of the acute care psychiatric facilities CNA must have working knowledge of the concepts of mental health, related physical conditions and best treatment approach.
- Experience with pediatric and adult patients.
- Good standing with the WV Nurse Aide Registry.
Education Required:
- Certified as a CNA in West Virginia.
- State-approved training program completed.
- Program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA).
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Favorable recent Registry and Employment Screening check for West Virginia.
- Pass required physical that includes a drug and alcohol screening.
- Current and up to date on all required vaccinations IAW the contract.
Additional Information
Pay: Min: $15/hour | Max: $20/hour
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
