What you will do in this role:

1. Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the patient's age.
2. Provide morning care, including bed bath, shower or whirlpool, oral hygiene, hair combing, back care, changing bed linens, cleaning over bed table and bedside stand, straightening the room, and other general care as needed throughout the day.
3. Provide evening care, including face/wash hands as needed, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, linen freshening, cleaning over bed tables, straightening the room, and other general care as needed.
4. Prepare patients for meals; serve and remove food trays; assist with meals or feeding if necessary.
5. Respond to patient call lights, anticipate needs, and make rounds to assigned patients.
6. Assist patients with handling personal property such as dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc.
7. Report and record any changes in patient condition or behavior and any unusual incidents when appropriate.
8. Assist licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of a course for nursing assistants.
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• CPR/BCLS Certification.
• Minimum six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
