Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

  • This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM)) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is: Q $4,699.

Under supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), and the clinical direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), CF, the CNA performs patient care activities and related nonprofessional health care activities. Responsibilities include assisting patients with physical care, activities of daily living, ensuring safety, and suicide watch activities including precaution and restraint monitoring. The CNA addresses patients' ongoing needs, collaborates with the nursing team, and promotes efficient use of healthcare resources.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a valid Nursing Assistant Certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health. All employees must meet general qualifications as per California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 172.

Please note: A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time.
