Job summary

Betty Dare Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate CNA to provide quality nursing care at our Alamogordo facility. You will participate in resident rounds, verify identifications, and support daily care tasks while upholding policies and patient safety.

The role requires a CNA license, at least 6 months of CNA experience or related clinical exposure, and the ability to communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• A minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience while enrolled in a CNA class.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Must be in good general health and emotionally stable.
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled and elderly persons.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to administer nursing care.
• Verify resident identification before care or meals.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are cleaned and filled and within reach of residents.
• Assist Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator as needed.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL

• Perform all duties as assigned and in accordance with facility’s established policies and procedures, nursing care procedures and safety rules and regulations.
• Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours thereafter to administer quality nursing care.
• Verify the identification of a resident before administering nursing care or serving food, to assure that appropriate care is being provided to the correct resident.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Assure that water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh drinking water and within the resident’s reach.
• Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator.
