Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists the Registered Nurse (RN) in providing patient and family-centered care that is safe, efficient, timely, and effective. The CNA performs patient care under the direct supervision of an RN. Tasks assigned are reasonably predictable, do not require assessment, interpretation, or independent decision-making during execution, and do not pose any risk to the patient.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience: 1 year experience as a CNA.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current RI CNA certification.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment, and Safety Requirements: Works in a well-lighted and well-ventilated area. Must meet annual safety training requirements and health-testing requirements. Frequent patient contact requires adherence to universal precautions. Visual acuity and hand dexterity are necessary. Physical movements include stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, stretching, and reaching. May need to lift objects weighing 25 pounds or more.
