Job summary

New Beginnings Hospice is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant for a full-time, on-site role in the San Marcos area. The CNA will provide hands-on patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and work under licensed supervision to support dignity and comfort for hospice patients and families.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient condition, documenting care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current Texas CNA certification and eligibility to work in a hospice setting.
• Experience with basic patient care including hygiene, vital signs, mobility and safe transfers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact respectfully with patients, families and staff.
• Ability to maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow care plans; infection control procedures.
• Experience in end-of-life or hospice care preferred.
• Reliable with time management; able to work independently on-site and flexible to evenings/weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.

Role Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a full-time, on-site role based in New braunfels, TX. The CNA provides direct hands-on care to hospice patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and repositioning to ensure comfort and safety. Daily responsibilities include monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition, documenting care provided, and following care plans under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The CNA supports patients and families with compassionate communication, helps maintain a clean and safe environment, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary hospice team to uphold the patient’s dignity and quality of life. The role may also involve light housekeeping tasks related to patient care and occasional travel within the local service area.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Texas and eligibility to work in a hospice or home health setting.
• Demonstrated skills in basic patient care, including personal hygiene assistance, vital signs monitoring, mobility support, and safe patient transfer techniques.
